The ship: Wonder of the Seas

Wonder of the Seas is a Royal Caribbean Oasis-class ship delivered in January 2022 and built in Saint-Nazaire, France. At about 235,600 gross tons and 362 meters long it carries roughly 5,700 guests at double occupancy, with more than 6,000 when full. The layout is split into neighborhoods: the Boardwalk with its carousel and Aquatheater, leafy Central Park, the Royal Promenade, and an enclosed two-story Solarium at the bow. Top decks hold the pools, hot tubs, FlowRider surf simulator, slides and zip line, and the ship's Suite Neighborhood sits on Decks 17 and 18.

No photos or video in clothing-optional areas, the playrooms, workshops or during theme nights. Respect other guests' privacy everywhere else.

Insider tips

  1. Pick your cabin location with noise in mind. Boardwalk View balconies are noisy long after 10pm because of the entertainment below, while Central Park View rooms are calmer.
  2. Consider an interior with a virtual balcony. Bliss lists it at the same price as the Central Park and Promenade view interiors, and on a megaship you spend most of your time out of the room anyway.
  3. Book your specialty dinners early. Wonderland and The Mason Jar are the headline restaurants, and they fill up with 6,000-plus guests fighting for tables. Reserve through the cruise line once you have your reservation number.
  4. Use the quiet spaces. Crowding at the elevators, the Windjammer buffet and the Royal Promenade is worst on sea days, and you get four of those. The Solarium and Central Park are good places to reset.
  5. Plan your costumes by night. Seven themes with a specific color code on several of them means a big suitcase, and Bliss does not map them to days on the website, so check the Bliss App closer to sailing.
  6. In St. Maarten, Orient Bay on the French side has a marked clothing-optional section called Club Orient. The water taxi in Philipsburg runs roughly 10 to 15 minutes to Front Street and Great Bay Beach.

Getting there

Saints & Sinners sails round trip from PortMiami, which sits on its own island just off downtown Miami.

MIA, Miami International, about 8 to 10 miles from the port, roughly 20 to 35 minutes depending on traffic.

  • Royal Caribbean typically uses Terminal A at PortMiami, but confirm your terminal in your cruise documents.
  • You cannot walk to the port from any hotel because it is on an island, so budget for a rideshare or shuttle.
  • Do not arrive before 10:30am. Early check-in is not permitted, and boarding typically runs 11am to 3pm.
  • Terminal parking runs around $22 per day, while off-site downtown lots are cheaper and usually include a shuttle.
