Vanity Parejas review: what to expect

Vanity Parejas calls itself a liberal and swinger pub, and that is a fair description: smaller and more personal than a big-city club, run by an owner who still shows first-timers around personally. It sits on Calle Adrián Pastor in the south-west of Alicante, a residential street rather than a nightlife strip, so arriving is low-key. Inside you get far more than the word pub suggests: a heated pool, a massage area, a cinema room, a BDSM room, a Roman bed, private booths with mirrors, open booths, a dark room and a big lounge where the night starts.

The schedule is the thing to plan around. The club opens only Friday to Monday, always from 5 PM, so you can make an afternoon of it rather than waiting for midnight. The club's own advice is a good guide: Friday suits younger couples, Saturday is the most festive night with themed parties such as lingerie nights, erotic games and Ibiza parties, Sunday is a relaxed afternoon that winds down by 1 AM, and Monday is Lunes de Tríos, the night with the most single men and single women.

Entry is simple. Couples and single men pay €40 on Friday, Sunday and Monday and €50 on Saturday, and single women pay €20 any night. The couple price covers both of you, and every entry includes two drinks per person, a locker, the cloakroom, towels and slippers. Nothing is expected of you once inside: interaction is encouraged but never required, and you can come just for the party.

Our tip: if it is your first visit, say so at the door and staff will walk you through the club and introduce you around. Couples who want a calm first look should try Sunday afternoon, when the crowd is relaxed. Single men should message the club on WhatsApp before setting off, because when the men's quota is full nobody else gets in until someone leaves, and Monday is the only night men can move freely through every area.
