Natsun Vera Playa review: what to expect
Natsun is where Vera Playa's naturist story started. Nudists had been coming to this flat, sandy stretch of the Almería coast since the late 1970s, and in the early 1980s Natsun opened as the first naturist holiday complex here, built by nudists for nudists. Today it is a low-key cluster of studios, bungalows and apartments on Calle Agua Amarga, right behind the official naturist beach, with a private pool set in a large garden that only Natsun guests use and that is strictly naturist.
This is apartment living, not a hotel. You get a kitchen or kitchenette, a terrace, bed linen and towels, and a change of both roughly every five days, and you cook for yourself or eat out along the seafront. The days revolve around the beach and the pool. The owners live and work on site, which is the real selling point: problems get sorted by someone who knows your name, and arrival times bend in the quieter months.
Be clear about the crowd. Natsun sells itself purely as a naturist holiday resort, and it advertises no lifestyle events or play areas. Lifestyle travelers who want sun, sea and a nude base for a week or a winter will feel at home; anyone after a party should plan their nights elsewhere on the coast. Pets are welcome too, which is rarer than it should be at naturist resorts.
Our tip: book direct through the Natsun website, by email or by phone. Other agents rent apartments in the area under the Natsun name, and the linen, laundry and pool access described here only come with direct bookings or Natsun's partner agencies. Then go long in winter. Between November and March a four-week stay brings a studio down to €36.50 a night, the sun shines most days, and stays over 35 nights are open to negotiation.

Where to stay at Natsun

Type A studio
The budget pick: a compact lounge with kitchenette, a sleeper sofa and bunk beds, and a terrace with sea views.
Type B bungalow

Type C apartment
The modern option for four or five, with a full kitchen block, Wi-Fi and a terrace facing south over the sea or the garden.
Type D apartment

Our tip for your first stay
Ask for an upper-floor Type C. They sit about 50 metres from the beach, and some ground-floor units lose part of the sea view, so say what you want when you book.
